ACN’s Founders are committed to ensuring the company and its Independent Representatives adhere to the highest ethical standards and perform in compliance with all the relevant laws and regulations in each and every country where it operates.
By the nature of the telecommunications and Internet services that ACN provides and its chosen marketing method - direct selling and network marketing - ACN is a highly regulated business, and it is regulated separately in each country where it operates.
Amongst other things, ACN is governed by telecommunications regulations, consumer law, direct selling laws and tax and social security regulations.
Prior to commencing operations in any particular European country, ACN employs a carefully selected set of external legal advisors licensed in that country to review the ACN business model and its template agreements with Independent Representatives and with customers to ensure full compliance.
In addition ACN also obtains all applicable registrations, licenses and permits with telecommunications regulators, tax and other government authorities to ensure compliance with laws and regulations that apply to the ACN’s proposed business in that country.
ACN is a company that takes matters of compliance with law and regulations seriously. Once established in a country, ACN maintains lines of communication with relevant government and consumer authorities so that if any issues arise from time to time such issues are resolved as quickly as possible.
ACN maintains its commitment to full compliance with daily oversight of the company’s operations by the ACN Europe Legal Department, which is a team of lawyers based in ACN’s Amsterdam office. Our Legal Department is experienced in all aspects of telecommunications law and practice and direct selling and consumer regulations. The Legal Department also has a panel of external legal advisors in each country, covering various areas of expertise, many of whom have worked with ACN for many years and know the company well and who act as the company “eyes and ears” in each country in terms of legal and regulatory developments and highlighting any issues that arise from time to time that may relate to ACN.
ACN Europe’s Legal Department is part of a global team of lawyers working at ACN, and they properly coordinate their legal and regulatory work with Colleen Jones, ACN’s Global General Counsel based in Concord, North Carolina, United States together with the ACN Founders and the US global executive team, and also other in house lawyers based in Sydney, Australia.
